Fruitcake Cookies From: Grandma 3/4 cup sifted flour 3/4 tsp soda 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/8 tsp nutmeg 1/8 tsp cloves 2 tbsp butter 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 egg 3-4 tbsp brandy 1/2 lb seedless raisins 1/2 lb pecan halves 1/4 lb mixed candied fruit 1/2 lb candied cherries Mix & sift flour, soda & spices. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and mix. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Add brandy & mix. Add raisins, pecans, candied fruit & cherries and mix until thoroughly coated with brandy mixture. Allowing about 1-2 tbsp mixture for each, drop on ungreased cookie sheet & press together tightly to form small mounds. Bake at 325 degrees for 14-16 minutes. Makes 2 dozen (Reduce raisins to 3/8 lb and add 1/8 lb dried cranberries for added tartness.)
